'Locals Only' - Weeknights at 11:30 - Providing You with the Best of the Local Scene

I'm 24.  A Scorpio..yes, we are the greatest.   I was born in New Orleans...  I guess, that's why I'm dark and twisty. I've been in radio for 6 years.  I absolutely love to entertain! I wear costumes for fun.

Music is like chocolatte milk...  except, I don't feel like throwing up, if I have too much of it.  I like road trips, but hate the road during traffic. Coffee... Black... Irish... Dunkin'... with Skim... Either Way... Gotta Have My Coffee.  Paintings. Photographs. Spurs...  I'd Like to Own Myself a Pair, One Day.  Thinking... I Do That Too Much, Sometimes.  It Gets Me Into Trouble, Among Other Things. Indians.  Vintage Belongings of Mine.  I Take Things From People..Mainly, the Ones I Like.  I'm a Collector.  I Like Making People Mix Compilations.  It Doesn't Mean I Like You, in That Way.  However, If I Make You a Mix CD... It's On.  Coffee Shops...  It's Great For Depicting the Varieties of People/Freaks...  Makes Me Feel Normal.  Jazz Music Excites Me...  Not the Elevator Kind.  The Sun...  It's an Odd...  but Not So Odd Obsession of Mine. Bread.  Hott Sauce.  Hott Sauce On Bread.  I'm Indecisive and Picky...  About Everything, Especially, Food...  But If I Can Put Hott Sauce On It...  It's a Done Deal.

I Have Many Goals in Life, and I WILL Accomplish Them All...  Including, Appearing On Cops.  Hopefully, Arrested By My Father...  but Not For Anything Like Murder, DUI...  Something Fun... like hopping a train.

Reading Outside.  Playing the G.  I Want a Banjo, Please.   Rivers.  I Write Letters..From the Civil War.  Cemeteries Have A Lot of Life to Them.  I want to learn how to swing dance.  That's on my bucket list.  I didn't like that movie, though.

My favorite thing to do, is to go to shows!  However, I hate when people talk or sing louder than the artist.  That's one reason I carry a holster with me.

My favorite places in Atlanta...  Star Bar, Johnny's Hideaway, Highland Ballroom, Park Tavern For Unplugged In the Park, Variety Playhouse, Fernbank Museum, Java Monkey, Li-ul 5 Points, Rag-O-Rama, La Fonda, Freedom Park, Five Spot, The Liquor Store, Psycho Sisters, Midtown Art Cinema, Plaza Theatre, Eastside Lounge, Front Page News (Li-ul Five's Location,) Sevananda, Criminal Records, Clermont Lounge, MJQ, Old Mills Antique Village, Inman Park Neighborhood (I Want to Secretly Live In a Stranger's Attic, in One of Those Gargeous Homes!,) Kudzu, Wax N Facts, Yoforia, Boomerang, Oakland Cemetery, Southern Comfort, and your bedroom window.

Aurora Coffee is in my hood.  It's like my lover, without the hurt.  It's there when I need it..except when it's closed..but I await the next day when they are open.  I wrote a li-ul ode to it the other day, while enjoying some joe, in hopes of them setting me up with Aurora for life.  Click 'read more,' for the 'Ode To Aurora.'

Band Of Skulls recently stopped by, before playing a show at Smith's Olde Bar.  Their album "Baby Darling Doll Face Honey" is a must have! I have listened to it continuously, for the past several months.  It's a hauntingly beautiful album.  It's very eclectic, with each track sounding different from the other.  They performed two songs in studio for me, and we had a li-ul chit-chat.  You can listen below!

I have the worst A.D.D., ever! I can never sit still to watch any kind of video online, for more than thirty seconds.  However!..this video just captivated me, and I continued to watch.  It's a Deco Dawson short film of Metric's "Help, I'm Alive."  What do you think about it?!

The band Chairlift joined me in studio, before their show at Drunken Unicorn.  September 30th, they will be playing a sold out show at Variety with the band Phoenix.  Earlier that day, they will be doing an in-store at Criminal Records.  Chairlift is nominated for an MTV VMA for "Evident Untensil," which you can catch this Sunday! Their song "Bruises' is featured in the iPOD Nano commercial.  Their album "Does You Inspire You" is beyond eclectic, with a sound that you won't hear from any other band.  Some of the tracks have a kind of dark western undertone, blended with a peppy dance beat.  You will fall in love with this album.  My favorite track is the heartbreaking "Don't Give a Damn."
