What: "Get It Daddy"
Who: Sleeper Agent
Hails From: Bowling Green, Kentucky
|
|
“We gonna have a ball but we ain’t got no need for chains!” opens the chorus of SLEEPER AGENT’s devil-may-care anthem: “Shuga Cane”. With that one phrase these Bowling Green, KY natives lay the groundwork for a sound that’s infectious, fast and overflowing with energy. Dueling vocals between lead singer Kidd and guitarist Tutone, accompanied by the driving rhythms of Keyser and Grizzlee set the stage for Saga to synthesize the flavor of Sleeper Agent’s signature sound. With a slew of shows on the horizon and their debut album, entitled “Celabrasion” produced by Jay Joyce, Sleeper Agent is on their mark to get set and awaken your love for all things rock.

What: "Love Is Dead"
Who: Kopek
Hails From: Dublin, Ireland |
|
The Irish trio has a history that stretches back a decade. Drummer Shane Cooney and bassist Brad Kinsella grew up as next-door neighbors in Dublin, and through their shared love of classic and modern rock music, quickly decided that rock stardom was their ticket to bigger and better things. “We listened to all the old stuff, The Stones, Hendrix, The Doors, Zeppelin, amazing bands where you can hear the energy,” recalls Cooney. The first singer who answered their ad in a local musician’s magazine turned out to be the golden voiced Daniel Jordan, and from there Kopek, average age 15, was born.

What: "Got It All"
Who: Portugal. The Man
Hails From: Wasilla, Alaska |
|
Portugal. The Man is an experimental indie rock four-piece centered on frontman John Baldwin Gourley’s abstract musical approach and corresponding upbringing. He was raised in a sort of technological isolation: his log cabin home in the winter wasteland of the fringes of Wasilla, Alaska was powered by a generator and had no telephone. Both of his parents helped completely immerse him in the unique lifestyle that comes with a land of seasonal darkness and perpetual cold with their jobs as dog sled mushers. Gourley’s innate curiosity and individual spirit combined with a fascination with science fiction and experiences of homelessness create a distinctly transcendent sound that is always open to interpretation and change.
